The Mortgage Credit Availability Index is rising, meaning more people are able to secure financing for a home loan – even with lower credit scores or smaller down payments. In fact, it’s easier to get a loan now than it’s been in almost three years. But we’re still well below where qualification levels were just a few years ago, so it’s not too easy. And because lending standards are still solidly in check, there’s no sign this will lead to risky loans or another crash.
